The Kindness of Strangers
By ClubMom Member Robbin, Pewaukee, WI
When my daughter was diagnosed with Leukemia it was overwhelming. No one would ever want to see their child go through this.
But, at the same time, we have been blessed so often with acts of incredible kindness. I don’t think we would have ever seen such generosity had we not been through this experience. One act of kindness sticks out in my mind.
My daughter had just come home from weeks in the hospital. We were coming to grips with how our life was changing. I wanted the house as clean as possible since her immune system was so compromised. Since my daughter was a baby and just crawling, I called a service to come clean our carpets.
As the serviceman was cleaning our carpet, I received several calls inquiring about my daughter. I was in tears as I relayed information about her illness, treatment and chances for survival.
